Edmonton Church, 1921
Dublin Core
Title
Edmonton Church, 1921
Description
This Photo shows the Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Edmonton in 1921. It was both a place of worship and a social and political centre for Black families to congregate. Through the church, they built networks, youth programs, choirs, and clubs and fostered a sense of community in Edmonton similar to many churches at the time.
