Evelyn Verall McKay was born on November 24th, 1892, in Galt, Ontario. On November 6th, 1916, she enlisted to the Canadian Army Medical Corps (C.A.M.C) as a Nursing Sister.Before reaching her final rank As a nursing sister in the 3th Canadian General Hospital (Mcgill) (Dannes Camier, Boulogne, France), Evelyn went through years of training in Exhibition camp hospital and Base hospital in Toronto. When the time came, like all Nursing/Medical assistants, she boarded the ship that would take her to Liverpool. After participating and helping those in the first World Warr, On November 4th, 1918, Evelyn was pronounced dead following a battle with broncho-pneumonia. Her body is rested at the Terlincthun British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France, VII. C. 26. She was commemorated for her courage in The First World War and received Scrolls and plaques for her efforts.
