(EN) : The picture is of the northern hemisphere parasitic species. The individual on the left is a male who was very near to spawning. The individual on the right is a female that was spawning when caught. Their total body lengths are approximately 18cm for the female and slightly larger for the male as he isn't spawning yet, around 22 cm. The length bar isn't on this picture but the oral disc of the female is approximately 1cm cross just to give you an idea of the size of their head region.

(FR) : L’espèce parasitaire de l’hémisphère nord est représentée sur cette photographie. L’individu à gauche est un mâle qui était sur le point de frayer. L’individu à droite est une femelle qui frayait au moment de la capture. Leur longueur totale respective est d’environ 18 cm pour la femelle et légèrement plus grande pour le mâle puisqu’il ne frayait pas encore, soit environ 22 cm. L’échelle n’est pas incluse sur l’image, mais le disque buccal de la femelle fait environ 1 cm d’un côté à l’autre, ce qui donne une idée de la taille de leur tête.
