(EN) : Trochophore larva: General external features. It is a free-swimming, pear-shaped larval stage in the development of many polychaete worms and it is characterized by a ring of cilia (called the prototroch), which aids in locomotion and feeding. Polychaete larvae typically progress through three stages, trochophore, metatrochophore, and nectochaete, before settling as adults.

(FR) : Larve trochophore : Caractéristiques externes générales. Il s'agit d'un stade larvaire nageant librement, en forme de poire, caractéristique de nombreux vers polychètes. Il est caractérisé par un anneau de cils (appelé prototroque), qui facilite la locomotion et l'alimentation. Les larves polychètes évoluent généralement en trois stades : trochophore, métatrochophore et nectochète, avant de devenir adultes.
