(EN) : Comparison between the gut of an acoel (phylum Xenacoelomorpha, order Acoela), which lacks a true gut cavity with food being ingested directly into a digestive syncytium (a mass of cells without a defined lumen; left), and a rhabdocoel (order Rhabdocoela), which possess a mouth followed by a simple or bulbous pharynx, and then a sac-like to elongated gut (right).

(FR) : Comparaison entre l'intestin d'un acèle (embranchement Xenacoelomorpha, ordre Acoela), qui ne possède pas de véritable cavité intestinale, la nourriture étant ingérée directement dans un syncytium digestif (une masse de cellules sans lumière définie ; à gauche), et un rhabdocèle (ordre Rhabdocoela), qui possède une bouche suivie d'un pharynx simple ou bulbeux, puis d'un intestin en forme de sac ou allongé (à droite).
