(EN) : Lichen: Diagrammatic representation of one of the major morphological forms called fruticose, which is a branched and shrubby form. The visible part, the thallus, is made up of fungal hyphae that form a network, with the algal cells embedded within. Lichen is a “dual” organism composed of a green alga or a cyanobacterium (called the photobiont) and a fungus (called the mycobiont) that live together in intimate association. The mycobiont of most lichens belongs to the ascomycetes, with a few basidiomycetes.

(FR) : Lichen : Représentation schématique d’une des principales formes morphologiques appelée fruticuleux, qui est une forme ramifiée et arbustive. La partie visible, le thalle, est constituée d’hyphes fongiques formant un réseau dans lequel sont intégrées les cellules algales. Le lichen est un organisme « double » composé d’une algue verte ou d’une cyanobactérie (appelée photobionte) et d’un champignon (appelé mycobionte) qui vivent en étroite association. Le mycobionte de la plupart des lichens appartient à la famille des ascomycètes, avec quelques basidiomycètes.
