(EN) : External anatomy: Each thallus is coenocytic i.e., it is a single, elongated, and multinucleate cell and possesses a horizontally running structure called a stolon (a horizontal, root-like structure), from which extend rhizoids (extensions from the stolon that act as roots and anchor the alga) and photosynthetic branches (vertical, leafy extensions that rise from the stolon, increasing the surface area for photosynthesis).

(FR) : Anatomie externe : Chaque thalle est cénocytique, c-à-d., qu'il s'agit d'une cellule unique, allongée et multinucléée, et qu'il possède une structure horizontale appelée stolon (une structure horizontale en forme de racine), d'où s'étendent des rhizoïdes (extensions du stolon qui agissent comme des racines et ancrent l'algue) et des branches photosynthétiques (extensions verticales et feuillées qui s'élèvent du stolon, augmentant la surface de photosynthèse).
