(EN) : "Click" mechanism in insect flight: General features of the indirect flight musculature, which generate high-frequency wingbeats. These muscles, are not directly attached to the wings, but instead distort the thorax to cause wing movement. The "click" arises when the wing passes through an unstable point, where the thorax's elasticity "snaps" the wing to the next stable position.

(FR) : Mécanisme du « clic » dans le vol des insectes : Caractéristiques générales de la musculature du vol indirect, qui génère des battements d'ailes à haute fréquence. Ces muscles ne sont pas directement attachés aux ailes, mais déforment le thorax pour provoquer le mouvement des ailes. Le « clic » se produit lorsque l'aile traverse un point instable, où l'élasticité du thorax « claque » l'aile vers la position stable suivante.
