(EN) : Indirect flight: Muscles are attached to the thorax, specifically the notum (dorsal part of the thorax) and cause wing movement by distorting (deforming) the thorax. This mechanism allows for high-frequency wingbeats without the muscles to be directly attached to the wings.

(FR) : Vol indirect : Les muscles sont attachés au thorax, plus précisément au notum (partie dorsale du thorax), et provoquent le mouvement des ailes en déformant ce dernier. Ce mécanisme permet des battements d'ailes à haute fréquence sans que les muscles soient directement attachés aux ailes.
