(EN) : Veliger larva: It is the planktotrophic (or plankton-feeding) second larval stage in the development of many gastropod snails that is characterized by the presence of a velum, which are two ciliated paddles or lobes used for swimming and feeding. This stage follows the trochophore stage and precedes metamorphosis into a juvenile snail.

(FR) : Larve véligère : Il s'agit du deuxième stade larvaire planctotrophe (ou planctonique) du développement de nombreux gastéropodes. Il se caractérise par la présence d'un vélum, deux lobes ciliés servant à la nage et à l'alimentation. Ce stade suit le stade trochophore et précède la métamorphose en escargot juvénile.
