(EN) : Intracellular digestion: Food is taken through the oral groove and a food vacuole with digestive enzymes is then formed to enclose the food particles. The food vacuole then moves within the cytoplasm while the digestive enzymes break down the food and release the nutrients that are absorbed into the cytoplasm. The waste products are then eliminated through the cytoproct (or anal pore).

(FR) : Digestion intracellulaire : Les aliments sont absorbés par la gouttière orale, puis une vacuole alimentaire contenant des enzymes digestives se forme pour enfermer les particules alimentaires. La vacuole alimentaire se déplace ensuite dans le cytoplasme tandis que les enzymes digestives décomposent les aliments et libèrent les nutriments qui sont absorbés dans le cytoplasme. Les déchets sont ensuite éliminés par le cytoprocte (ou pore anal).
