(EN) : Mastaxes or trophi (singular mastax or trophos): These structures are use for feeding and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes, allowing them to consume different types of food. Some of the different types are shown here (from top-left to bottom-right) (1) Malleoramate (combination of malleate and ramate features), (2) Uncinate (hooked structures), (3) Ramate (branch-like structure), (4) Malleate (hammer-like appearance and most common type with enlarged view of malleus above), (5) Sub-malleate, (6) Forcipate (pincers-like appearance and found in marine rotifers), (7) Incudate (anvil-like shape).

(FR) : Mastax ou trophi : Ces structures servent à l'alimentation et se présentent sous diverses formes et tailles, leur permettant de consommer différents types d'aliments. Certains des différents types sont présentés ici (de haut à gauche à bas à droite) : (1) Malléoramé (combinaison de caractéristiques malléé et ramé), (2) Unciné (structures crochues), (3) Ramé (structure en forme de branche), (4) Malléé (apparence en marteau et type le plus courant avec vue agrandie du marteau ci-dessus), (5) Sous-malléé, (6) Forcipé (apparence en pinces et présent chez les rotifères marins), (7) Incudé (forme en enclume).
