(EN) : Colony: Main features. It is a spherical or oval-shaped, hollow sphere composed of thousands of individual cells arranged in a single layer on the periphery and embedded in a gelatinous matrix. Each cell is biflagellate (possessing two flagella) and the coordinated movement of the flagella on each cell allows the entire colony to move through the water, both translating (moving forward) and rotating.

(FR) : Colonie : Principales caractéristiques. Il s'agit d'une sphère creuse, sphérique ou ovale, composée de milliers de cellules individuelles disposées en une seule couche à la périphérie et noyées dans une matrice gélatineuse. Chaque cellule est biflagellée (possédant deux flagelles) et le mouvement coordonné des flagelles de chaque cellule permet à l'ensemble de la colonie de se déplacer dans l'eau, à la fois en translation (avancée) et en rotation.
