Doctor TNU's resignation had been rendered inevitable, sooner or later, by the --G-- which opposes the manoeuvre of GHEH KUNG-PG, MHI (YEZY) PING, and GROW PU-MAI to the faction of the WANG family, a conflict which has become only the more acute since WANG's departure for Japan. The partisans (Yof the!) --H-- president (YhadY), for eight months, been systematically kept removed from important decisions and this tendency had become still greater during these past weeks.
Under the circumstances, Doctor TNU who, among all the members of the WANG (YelahY) (Part 2) --M-- the one closest to the late President's family, found himself forced to submit his resignation. --ZW-- GHEH KUNG-PG, and GROW PU-MAI asked him to withdraw (YitY) since it had been agreed that there should, for the time being, be as little change as possible among the personnel, (See my telegram 214, 118). Nevertheless, it seems probable that Doctor TNU is maintaining --G-- decision. --ZW-- he proposed the selection of one of the four following candidates: Messrs. LIMPAI-SMANG, TSAI PRI, GROWxx.

KASSIGLI sur l'intérêt qui s'attacherait à ce que la position de la France à l'égard du conflit du Pacifique ne soit pas modifiée. En effet toute altération apportée à notre attitude diplomatique entraînerait la perte, peut-être (16) irrémédiable de l'Indochine, l'effondrement à coup sûr définitif de nos florissants établissements de Chine et de nos possessions territoriales ... , seuls et derniers témoins de l'influence blanche, la liquidation enfin de 8.000.000.000 de francs entreposés au Japon, annulant ainsi cent ans d'efforts et de patience.
A cet égard la position prise par le Gouvernement japonais dès la libération de la France mérite d'être notée. Le Ministre des Affaires étrangères m'a (17) assuré qu'il était disposé à appliquer vis-à-vis de la France une politique d'expectative et que, en tout état de cause, il ne (prendrait) aucune (décision) qui nous fût contraire.

TCHOU NOAO SIANO, ancien Ministre a Bruxelles, qui s'y est refusé, de servir d'intermédiaire entre Tokyo et Tchoung-king. Le docteur LOU, Ministre de l'Hygiène et protégé personnel de Mme WANG CHING WEI, a déclaré récemment à l'un de nos compatriotes qu'il n'attendait plus d'autre poste à l'avenir que l'exil.
(410) De l'autre côté, il paraft se confirmer que l'on serait sur le point de ramener M. WANG CHING WEI a Shanghai et on le placerait dans une résidence de la route Fréla ...
On déclare officiellement que l'état de santé du Président s'est amélioré mais il serait en réalité au plus mal.
Il est probable que les Japonais mettront à profit la présence de M. WANG CHING WEI en Chine pour user de son autorité afin d'effectuer, pendant qu'il est encore en vie, un profond remaniement du Gouvernement de Nankin.
