Situation au 9 novembre à 13 heures.

I. Au Maroc forces ennemies avec chars ont occupé fort Lyautey. Place Casablanca attaquée par trois colonnes avec chars venant de Fedhala. Yedette rapide américaine soulée à l'entrée du port par tir à défense contre avions et avions, 76 prisonniers. (Queue du convoi) continue tirer. Portes de personnel marine et deuxième escadre légère (1 of 2 1037/10/11) (10962 VIT) sont lourdes. Familles rapatriées de Dakar ont pu être débarquées à temps des paquebots.

II. A Oran forces ennemies ont effectué le matin une attaque générale avec grandeurs (AIA) moyennes. Batteries lourdes (bâtiments de police) et vont encore en état. Une contre-torpilleur et un torpilleur d'Oran ont tenté sans succès regagner Toulon.

III. Partout ailleurs situation sans changement. Situation calme en Tunisie.

La journée d'élection a été particulièrement calme. Voici pour l'agglomération newyorkaise les premiers résultats officiels:

I. M. DENEY, candidat républicain, est élu gouverneur avec une forte majorité de 600.000 voix, supérieure de 100.000 aux prévisions du parti. Les autres politiciens d'état de la liste républicaine sont presque tous (victorieux). La Chambre et le Sénat d'état passent sous le contrôle républicain. Les démocrates perdent ainsi l'état de New York qu'ils dirigraient depuis vingt ans.

Le candidat socialiste a obtenu 300.000 voix et le communiste quelques milliers.

Dans le Connecticut les républicains emportent le siège (983) de gouverneur.

II. En ce qui concerne la Chambre et le Sénat fédéraux les résultats sont encore (incomplete); les candidats de l'état de New York sont réélus ou gagnant des voix.

Dans le Connecticut les résultats sont (incomplete) mais CLARK BOOTH LUCE, républicaine, femme du directeur de "Life" magazine qui a publié des articles violents contre notre pays est (victorieuse). Dans le New Jersey les républicains gagnent du terrain et enlèvent un siège de sénateur.
