Les Pères Rédemptoriates canadiens en Indochine ne
(peuvent) plus recevoir de fonds de leur Maison-Mère en raison
des circonstances. Le Haut Commissaire de France dans le
Pacifique leur a accordé, à compter du 1er janvier, des supplé-
ments de 7,000 plastres que les intéressés (se sont) engagés à
rembourser dès que possible. Un premier versement de 21,000
plastres a été effectué le 17 mai.
Le Ministre des Finances demande que la Maison-Mère des
Pères Rédemptoriates assure le remboursement de la contre-valeur
de ce versement par l'interdition de l'agence comptable des
hancelleries.

(Il n'est) aujourd'hui question que de l'écrasant budget proposé hier au Parlement par le Ministre des Finances. Il fait prévoir pour cette année des dépenses de près de 4 (milliards) de dollars, (comme) le don d'un ... à l'Angleterre. Cette somme est obtenue par une (majoration) extrêmement lourde de l'impôt, auquel s'ajoute un paiement proportionné sur le revenu, (remboursé) après la guerre avec intérêt de (2\%). Le total arrive à (presque) doubler les impôts grevant jusqu'ici un budget moyen. Tout (cela) n'exclut pas l'élévation des (taxes) sur des produits de (luxe), alcool, tabac, etc. ni un prochain appel à l'emprunt. Le Ministre a brossé un (tableau) extrêmement (noir) de la situation pour faire accepter des sacrifices allant au delà de toute prévision .
