Roosevelt a annoncé hier à la presse une conférence avec les chefs des armées alliées au sujet de la situation dans le Pacifique et particulièrement à (Java?). A la fin de cette conférence le ministre de la guerre a déclaré que les E.U. et l'Angleterre n'avaient pas l'intention d'abandonner (Java?) et avaient même envoyé dans cette île des renforts importants au cours des derniers jours. On dit cependant à New York que tous ces renforts auraient pu modifier le cours de la bataille s'ils avaient été envoyés plus tôt mais qu'ils arriveraient trop tard.
