J'ai cru devoir attendre la publication des débats parlementaires pour fournir au Département des renseignements complétant le télégramme Agence Havas expédié samedi au sujet d'une nouvelle déclaration du Premier Ministre sur les relations diplomatiques franco-canadiennes.

Feu avant la fermeture de la session, le chef du parti socialisant ayant demandé la fermeture de cette légation, M. KING a paraphrasé sa déclaration (342) du 19 mai (mon tól. $219^{2}$ ): avantage du maintien d'un chargé d'affaires canadien en France, accord avec Londres et Washington, nécessité de soutenir le moral français, etc.

L'interrogateur a alors reproché au Gouvernement de ne pas reconnaître le Général DE GAULLE, ce qui a amené la (réponse) d'usage:11 n'y a pas de gouvernement de la France dissidente mais le Ganada fait de son mieux pour collaborer avec les forces françaises combattantes.

Le peplement s'est ajourné jusqu'au 27 janvier en principe.

La presse de l'ouest tout d'abord exprime dans son ensemble un assez vif mécontentement de la manière dont est conduite la guerre par les Nations-Unies. Ainsi la revue hebdomadaire "ARGONAUT" de tendance républicaine et ... , très lue a SAN FRANCISCO écrivait le 10 juillet:- "Les Anglais sont entrés en guerre parce qu'ils pensaient qu'elle serait faite par les Français derrière la ligne Naginot. S'ils avaient pu prévoir qu'en 6 semaines les Allemands auraient conquis la France, ils (2892) n'auraient jamais déclaré la guerre a l'Allemagne pour la Pologne. Ce dernier pays a été encouragé à se battre par des promesses d'assistance qui n'ont jamais été (tenues). ... l'Angleterre a une armée imposante qui devrait être prête à entrer en action mais CHURCHILL ne l'a pas beaucoup utilisée.
