Les journaux américains accordent la place la plus large aux déclarations faites à son arrivée à Londres par M. ANDRE PHILIP. D'après les correspondants d'agenoe, l'ancien (député) de (Lyon) aurait recommandé aux autorités britanniques de ne pas jouer à la légère dans leur propagande avec l'idée de second front. "... mes compatriotes ne comprennent pas que la radio britannique les invite à quitter les bégions côtières en pronosticant une offensive immédiate qui ne se déclenche jamais. Une telle tension est mauvaise pour les nerfs de la population."
M. PHILIP aurait aussi indiqué aux Anglais que la radio britannique, par manque de compréhension de la psychologie française avait perdu son prestige en France:-"Les Français, aurait-il dit, n'aimant pas que les Anglais leur donnent des avis et des conseils sur ce qu'ils doivent faire (et ne) pas faire.

Par ailleurs, il a souligné que la flotte française n'était nullement en danger de tomber entre les mains des Allemands, car LAVAL y était personnellement opposé. Malheureusement, si l'on en croit les journaux, M. PHILIP a cru aussi devoir déclarer à Londres que le prestige du maréchal PETAIN avait (baissé) en France et que les centres de résistance souterraine avaient pris depuis quelque temps une grande extension et reconnaissent maintenant les mêmes chefs.
