La désignation de représentants militaires américains auprès du Comitó gaulliste apporte un encouragement à l'action des Français dissidents de ce pays qui bénéficient des commentaires suivants relevés ce matin dans la presse américaine.
Le NEW YORK TIMES considère que la décision du Gouvernement des E.U. équivaut à la nomination d'un attaché militaire et naval auprès de DE GAULLE. Ce journal remarque néanmoins qu'il ne s'agit pas d'une reconnaissance diplomatique. Mais, dans un éditorial il estime que "le Département d'Etat a assumé la charge délicate de maintenir à la fois des relations avec Vichy et les autres Français qui combattent du côté américain contre l'Axe."
(2677)"Nous reconnaissons les Français Libres en A.E.F. mais pas en A.O.F., à la Nouvelle Calédonie mais pas à la Martinique. TUCK concernant la question de la flotte française d'Alexandrie et indique qu'une note a été remise par le Gouvernement franfais au Chargé d'Affaires américain rejetant les propositions américaines. La presse, obéissant évidemment à une consigne, me donne aucun ... a cette dépêche et garde le plus profond silence sur les négociations en cours. A sa conférence de presse hier M. HULL a répété qu'il n'y avait aucun nouveau développement dans cette affaire. Il a ajouté que la situation militaire en agypte avait pris un tour meilleur, il pense pour l'instant plus aux ... de la ... qu'aux conséquences d'une éventuelle ... britannique.
