Ma lettre 5 mai. Je vous donne ci-après compte rendu annoncé au sujet COMPAGNIE TRANSAITANTIQUE.
I. Depuis mon arrivée et après avoir consulté délégué et approché officieusement W. S. A. et Trésorerie, je me suis efforcé de résoudre situation créée par l'attitude purement négative adoptée par MORIN DE LINCLATS à la suite de la notification de sa révocation. Je lui ai confirmé verbalement et (2771) par écrit la nécessité pour lui (d')abandonner ses fonctions dans les deux sociétés en me remettant ses pouvoirs à moi-méme "les qualités" pour être exercés par telle personne que j'aurais désignée au nom du Comité Libération. Je lui ai indiqué que, aussitôt réalisé passage de pouvoirs, je consentirais à saisir Comité de sa demande de révision de la décision prise à son égard. J'ai la conviction que les autorités américaines, bien que officiellement (2772) désintéressées, auraient apprécié solution de ce genre.
II. Je regols de l'intéressé aujourd'hui lettre que je vous transmets par la valise et qui ne fournit aucune solution satisfaisante. Je vous apporterai tout complément de dossier nécessaire mais je considère dans ces conditions qu'il est impossible de tarder plus longtemps à adopter ici une ... définitive et à la faire connaitre aux autorités américaines.
III. Je vous propose donc:
A) de prévoir dès maintenant la constitution par voie (2773) d'ordonnance d'une délégation ... libre du conseil de la C. G. T. J'étudierai avec beaucoup de ... dans quelles conditions le comité de surveillance que nous avions envisagé pourrait jouer ce rôle avec pouvoirs (2774) reconnus suffisants ici pour rqvoquer ceux de MORIN DE LINCLATS.

M. H. WILSON est venu me confirmer aujourd'hui que vu les soins prolongés que nécessitera la santé de sa femme il me rentrera pas à Alger. Il m'a demandé de dire au général DE GAULLE et à vous-même avec quel regret il renonçait à une mission que l'amitié et la confiance qui lui étaient marquées à Alger lui avaient rendue particulièrement agréable. (2610) M. WILSON doit assumer au Département d'Etat la présidence d'une commission chargée, m'a-t-il dit, de trance les plans de la future Société des Nations. Il m'a donné en confidence les noms des trois diplomates de carrière qui ont été soumis au Président pour qu'il choisisse parmi eux son successeur. Tous trois sont des personnages de second plan et dont l'un au moins appellerait de notre part (une) certaine réserve.

Le gouvernement des Soviets aurait cherché (14301) à faire évoquer la question devant la commission européenne; il se serait heurté à un refus et n'aurait pas insisté. La formule lui aurait été alors communiquée; mais on n'aurait pas attendu sa réponse pour autoriser le général EISENBOVER à entamer des conversations avec le général KORNIG.
