A l'occasion de sa conférence de presse hier le Secrétaire d'Etat s'est efforcé de répondre aux inquiétudes exprimées à Londres par le ministre des Affaires étrangères hollandais, et aux E.U. par une section importante de la presse, et particulièrement par le T.Y.Times, au sujet de la part considérée comme trop exclusive donnée aux grandes puissances dans le plan d'organisation de la paix de CHURCHILL et du gouvernement américain.

Avec beaucoup de force H. HULL a donné l'assurance aux nations (3379) que lours droits seraient sauvegardés dans le projet actuellement à l'étude. Il a affirmé que le gouvernement américain était en toutes circonstances disposé à voir toutes les nations, particulièrement les petites, mises sur un (pied) d'égalité et (particjp)ant dans toute la mesure du possible. Il en a donné comme preuve les déclarations (déjà) faites par le Président et lui-même (énongant) que l'histoire et la tradition américaines sont riches (en) exemples d'encouragement donnés par les E.U. aux pays aspirant à la liberté.

Nous avons eu une nouvelle réunion avec Anglais et Américains au sujet des corps gras. Nos interlocuteurs nous ont fait part des démarches qu'ils ont faites auprès des administrations alliées compétentes pour obtenir leur adhésion à notre plan de transport de corps gras d'A.O.F. en A.F.N. Ils nous ont donné à ce sujet les (3253) précisions suivantes:

I. Plan de transport:

A) Notre plan de transport a été présenté à Londres qui a donné son approbation de principe.

B) Alger aurait informé Londres que le plan au sujet des corps gras français doit être exécuté au moyen bateaux français de la liste B aussi bien pour les tonnages destinés à la consommation d'A.F.N. que pour tonnage destiné à constituer stocks pour France.

C) Ceci étant, les Alliés approuvent notre plan mais s'il pouvait (y avoir) du tonnage additionnel en provenance du pool, le shipping devrait (3254) réexaminer la question.

II. Les Alliés considèrent que nous devons transporter sous forme d'arachides la plus large quantité possible d'A.O.F. en A.F.N. afin de disposer ainsi sur place du maximum de tourbeaux.

III. Les Alliés ont fait connaître qu'ils n'ont pas de capacité de stockage à mettre à notre disposition en A.F.N.

IV. Les Alliés ont fait observer que les circonstances militaires pourraient, au cours même de son exécution, rendre nécessaire de modifier (3255) le plan de transport. En effet, dans l'hypothèse (continued)
