Je me réfère à mon télégramme no. 100. La question de l'envoi du corps expéditionnaire brésilien traverserait en ce moment une crise fort sérieuse. La presse n'en laisse rien transpirer mais d'après des informations bien formées et des indices concordants, de vives discussions auraient eu lieu à ce sujet au conseil des ministres le 26 avril.

Le gouvernement américain aurait fait savoir en effet que la ... de tonnage disponible ne permet ... ... fixer une date proche au départ qu'on avait espéré pouvoir réaliser au (mois de juin). Les ministres de la Défense nationale et de la Guerre et de la Marine auraient alors souligné la perte de prestige que subirait le Brésil si l'on ...ait à (203) l'opinion publique, qu'après une mobilisation onéreuse et un entraînement intense, gouvernement se trouvait obligé d'ajourner l'envoi et (entraînement), même de procéder à une démobilisation partielle du corps expéditionnaire.
