La mission militaire demeurant ferme dans sa préférence de ne pas quitter l'enseuble qu'elle occupe actuellement pour l'enseuble voisin loué par nous à son intention ou éventuellement à celle de la délégation, il y a six semaines, j'ai décidé dans un esprit d'arrangement et sous réserve votre accord, de transporter dans cette dernière maison, dont les travaux d'aménagement viennent d'être terminés, tous les services de la délégation. Le même (4242) l'enseuble hébergera quelques services relevant plus immédiatement de la délégation (travaux, bureaux d'études, services du personnel, etc.). Dans l'enseuble laissé vacant par notre départ pourront s'installer d'autres services des missions économiques actuellement à l'étoit. Ces dispositions permettront le regroupement désiré dans un même voisinage des principales missions. Elles donneraient à la délégation actuellement très informellement logée dans une maison trop petite et de pauvre apparence une installation correspondant à la fois à la position (4244) que les circonstances actuelles nous permettent de reprendre et à l'autorité unie et effective que le Général DE GARLLE a marqué sa volonté de lui voir désormais assurée sur ensemble de l'activité de toute mission civile. Je vous serais obligé de prévenir MORRIS dont les collaborateurs ont ordi devoir prendre ici à l' (insu de) VALERIE et de moi-même certaines dispositions spéciales en sens contraire et de me confirmer d'urgence votre accord.

D'autre part, R. CURTIN aurait laissé entendre à des journalistes, (RECST) le 3 juillet, à Canberra, que des arrangements avaient été conclus entre les E.U. et l'Australie au sujet de l'usage réciproque de bases après la guerre.

INWIN Vice-président de la PHILADELPHIA ELECTRIC COMPANY qui sera à Londres vers le 25 juillet. Il a reçu copie du mémorandum établi au moment du départ du Lieutenant-Commander J. A. A l'occasion de la célébration du 14 juillet a Ottawa, de très nombreux témoignages m'ont été donnés de l'effet de la visite du Général DE GAULLE au Canada.

Le Premier Ministre a tems a se rendre persennelle:ent a réception donnée ce matin a mon domicile pour la colonie française. (494) C'est la première fois qu'il accomplit ce geste a notre égard, et il a certainement tems a marquer ainsi son désir ... ... , a la faveur de la visite du Général DE GAULLE, le ton de nos relations devenir plus chaleureux et plus cordial.

En m'apportant (495) ses voeux personnels et ceux de son Gouvernement pour la libération de la France, il m'a renouvelé la grande satisfaction qu'il a eus de rencontrer le Général DE GAULLE avec lequel il a noué, a-t-il dit, des liens de vive amitié.

Il a également marqué qu'il avait été très touché par le message que lui a adressé le Président du gouvernement Provisoire de la République Frangaise avant son (496) départ, et m'a fait part des remerciements qu'il vient de lui envoyer.

Ce geste Crangais a ... de l'excellente atmosphère dans laquelle s'est déroulé au Canada le séjour du Général DE GAULLE, qui dans les milieux ... d'ottawa est particulièrement sensible, parce qu'elle constitue un retour soudain sur la réserve ou l'hostilité antérieure. Il est même possible qu'en ce qui concerne le Premier Ministre il y ait eu la la marque d'un sentiment plus profond.
