1) France: Caen libérée 9 juillet quoiqu'une division
allemande continue tenir (sur la) rive droite Orne. L'ennemi cherche
maintenir Orne entre Britanniques et lui afin de soulager pression alliée
dans région Caen et transfère à ouest moyens d'urgence pour arrêter
avance américaine qui menace les 3 réseaux routiers Lessay-Periers et
Saint-Lô de très près.
Le nombre de divisions allemandes installées en
Normandie atteignait 24 sur un total de 55 en territoire français au
mois juillet.
2) En Italie: Ennemi à dû céder du terrain (4516) sous la
pression énergique 71ème armée à San Gimignano - Fogibonsi, troupes
françaises terminent leur occupation.
3) Forces Françaises Intérieur. Il est intéressant résumer
activités F.F.I. depuis débarquement France au moment où statut des
forces régulières a été proclamé par le Commandement allié le 15 juillet.
Dans les 2 mois qui précédèrent débarquement sans attendre jour J ces
forces effectuèrent plus de 200 opérations sur transport chemin de fer
détruisant vaste .M. locomotives et wagons.
(4517) 450 actes sabotage exécutés contre usines.
Action à partir du 6 juin eut surtout pour objet paralyser
transport en coopération avec opérations alliées dans les jours
critiques où succès débarquement était en suspens, concentrations troupes
allemandes subirent retard peut-être décisif.
(4518) C'est à l'action des F.F.I. que nous avons dû
de voir la 171ème pancerdivision pendant plusieurs jours entre Bordeaux
et Poitiers, la 21ème pancer bloquée à Montauban et arrivée avec
plusieurs jours de retard en Normandie.
La 111ème pancerdivision venue de Russie mettra 3 fois
plus de temps parcourir 450 kilomètres en France que pour franchir 1650
kilomètres séparant son stationnement de Russie à la frontière française.

M. BALABANOFF, ministre de Bulgarie à Ankara, est
parti il y a quelques jours pour Sofia appelé en consultation par
son Gouvernement. Avant son départ il a demandé avec insistance
à un attaché militaire neutre de lui dire en toute franchise si
à son avis l'Allemagne avait encore une chance de gagner la guerre
ou même simplement d'aboutir à une paix de compromis. Il a ajouté
qu'il procédait à cette enquête à la demande de son Gouvernement et
pour guider (23085) la conduite future de celui-ci. L'avis de
l'attaché militaire a été naturellement que l'Allemagne perdrait la
guerre en toute certitude.
La confusion actuelle des esprits bulgares est manifestée
d'autre part par la convocation puis l'ajournement de la Sobranye
qui devait se réunir en séance extraordinaire le 16 juillet pour
(prendre) disait-on des décisions définitives.
A Ankara l'on suit la situation de la Bulgarie avec
une certaine appréhension. Faisant écho aux paroles (23086) de
M. RUCHTU ARAS mentionnées dans mon tél. 486, M. YALCHINGA écrivait
il y a peu de jours: "L'intervention active de la Bulgarie dans
la guerre ne saurait nous laisser indifférents. Cela nous conduira
à prendre certaines mesures de sécurité. Ce sont là des choses
qui touchent à un proche avenir: la situation est devenue très
délicate".
Il est certain en effet que les Turcs cherchant un
terrain concret de rapprochement (23087) avec les Russes seraient
heureux d'appuyer les démarches de l'URSS auprès .SM. à ceux-ci
le maintien de leur neutralité. Mais il est douteux que le
Gouvernement des Soviets estime nécessaire le concours turc en ce
domaine. D'autre part l'attaché militaire britannique m'a dit
qu'à son avis jamais les Turcs n'oseraient intervenir militairement
en Bulgarie tant qu'ils risqueraient d'y rencontrer un seul soldat
allemand.
