Le Département m'a communiqué votre télégramme no $2^{\text {a }}$
du 4 janvier au sujet de l'affaire (de l'jfle clipperton. Ce
télégramme étant arrivé mutilé, ... me rendre compte si le voyage
envisagé par notre attaché militaire était ou non décidé. D'après
les premières informations que j'ai pu recueillir ici, il me parait
préferable que ce voyage n'ait pas lieu avant que notre Gouvemement
ait été complètement renseigné sur les circonstances exactes de
cette affaire.
