L'Ambassadeur du Venezuela à Washington M. ESCALANTE est arrivé Caracas avant-hier matin. Interrogé par les journalistes, il a déclaré que son séjour serait de courte durée. Il s'est refusé à donner publiquement des précisions sur le but de son voyage avant d'avoir vu le Président de la République et le Ministre des Affaires étrangères. Cependant il a déclaré qu'il était chargé d'une mission concernant la situation du Venezuela (33) dans les futures conférences de paix. Le voyage de ce diplomate provoque ici des commentaires en raison rumeurs qui ont circulé ces derniers jours, d'après lesquelles la chancellerie vénézuélienne aurait manifesté sa surprise à l'annonce des déclarations du Président ROOSEVELT relatives à l'exclusion des pays non-belligérants des délibérations futures relatives à la paix.
