La presse annonce que les premiers ministres d'Australie et de Nouvelle-Zélande, JOHN CURTIN et PETER FRASER, se trouvent actuellement à Washington où ils tenteraient auprès du Département d'Etat d'amaindir l'effet défavorable qu'avait eu dans les milieux gouvernementaux américains la (13539) conclusion du récent accord australien-néo-zélandais.

Je tiens à recevoir par télégramme les informations que vous pourrez recueillir sur les résultats de cette visite.

Au cas où il vous serait possible de rencontrer les deux hommes, (je ne doute pas que) (13560) vous ne saisissiez cette occasion pour affirmer intérêt que porte la France aux problèmes soulevés par un accord concernant une région du Pacifique qui englobe nos possessions de la Nouvelle-Calédonie et des Nouvelles-Rébrides.
