Des conversation que j'ai oues ces dernières semaines avec l'ambassadeur des E.U. au sujet Tanger, je ne ... de retirer l'impression que ni lui, ni son collègue britannique :'ait l'intention entreprendre prochainement des démarches auprès du gouvernement espagnol pour anener le rétablissement du statut international. Tous deux se bornaient à demander l'expulsion des agents de l'(axe), qui serait suivie, par la suite, de la fermeture du consulat d'Allemagne.

J'ai vu aujourd'hui le conseiller de l'ambassade des E.U. Il m'a confirmé que le Département d'Etat n'avait envoyé aucune (instruction) prescrivant une démarche en ce sens. Il a observé que, dans un avenir plus ou moins lointain ......... tous les signataires des actes relatifs au statut de la zone devraient ...er le rétablissement du statu quo ante bellum. Mais ce moment n'était pas venu, et introduire cette question dans les négociations en cours serait même inopportun.
