Ambassadeur argentin a Londres vient de m'apporter une lettre aux termes de laquelle Gouvernement argentin met a la disposition du Gouvernement frangais 100.000 tonnes (je dis 100.000) de blé et 5.000 (5) de viande "en témoignage de la sympathie et de l'amitié inaltérable de l'Argentine a l'égard de la France." Le transport de ce ravitaillement doit (26383) être assuré par le Gouvernement frangais.

J'ai remercié en mon nom personnel M. CARCANO.
Cette offre pose un problème matériel (celui du transport) et dans une certaine mesure un problème politique.

Ambassadeur argentiin m'a dit a cette occasion que des manifestations considérables ont eu lieu a Buenos-Apres a l'occasion de la libération de Paris mais que la presse britannique obéissant aux consignes de silence inspirées par Washington n'en avait pas soufflé mot.
