Depuis qu'elles ne sont plus en mesure de faire des
envois d'argent, quelques familles antillaises sont inqui8tes
du sort de leurs enfants, en majorité étudiants, actuellement
en France. Je serais désireux de leur apporter un apaisement en
donnant (1831) publiquement assurance que dispositions sont prises
par Gouvernement pour venir en aide à ceux qui par suite des
circonstances se trouveraient sans ressources suffisantes. Puis-je
donner cette assurance? De plus autorisation reprise des
services mandats télégraphiques peut-elle être envisagée?
