The friends of the ex-King assert that the latter has
probably not (? abdicated ?) but only delegated his powers
to his son, who is said to be willing to return them to him.
King MICHAEL, who used to live somewhat apart, withdrawn, as
often as not, at --U-- and in his --G--, an attitude which
the opposition (? wanted ?) to interpret as a sign of obvious
hostility toward Marshal ANTONENCU, is showing signs at this
time, in the midst of --U--, of benevolent activity which makes
him very popular. (? Concerning ?) the bombings, an official
of the (? passive ?) defense told me that the figures have
been (? greatly ?) underestimated. Actually, the first bombing
caused (? 11 ?), 600 deaths and not 4,800.

a - Or "in".
b - Defense (? passive ?).
