Après quatre semaines de discussion, la Chambre des
députés a fini par adopter hier soir le bill approuvant l'envoi
obligatoire des troupes canadiennes outre-mar au cas de nécessité
par 158 voix contre 54. Les conservateurs ont soutenu la Gouvernement libéral.

L'opposition a été constituée par six députés socialis-
ants et le groupe massé des représentants du Québec qui se considèrent comme liés par le vote négatif de leurs électeurs lors du plébiscite.

Ce résultat accentue (307) le particularisme du Canada français. En dépit de leur fort désir d'appuyer le Gouvernement libéral et de leur atte hement envers la personne de M. NACKENEIE KING, ses représentants n'ont pas cru pouvoir sacrifier un principe traditionnel chez leurs compatriots.
