L'intervies donné aux journalistes a son arrivée a New York par l'ancien ministre de Hexique a Vichy, le Général AGUILAR, fait l'objet des commentaires suivants du PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER:-
"Un diplomate revenant de Vichy décrit le chef du Gouvernement français comme étant non seulement pro-allemand, mais encore plus pro-Japonais. LAVAL, de son propre aveu travaille pour la domination des puissances de l'Axe. Il est pour l'ennemi, il est contre nous et cependant nous continuons a maintenir des relations avec son régime. Les dangers de tels rapports diplomatiques sont évidents. Continuer a parler avec LAVAL, c'est traiter avec l'Axe qui veut nous détruire. Nous espérons que le Département d'Etat n'a pas complètement perdu de vue cette situation".
