Le (commentat)eur militaire du NEW YORK HERALD TRIBUNE se fait aujourd'hui l'écho des préoccupations qui (obsêdent) ceux sur qui repose la re-ponsabilité de l'ouverture d'un second front. Le commandant ELIOT insiste notamment sur l'impossibilité de prendre une décision aussi longtemps que les Russes refuseront de faire connaitre à leurs alliés leur réserve en hommes et en matériel.

Certains milieux de Washington semblent craindre en effet que les Russes, ayant mis tout en oeuvre pour l'obtenir, tirent prétexte de l'échec d'un second front pour signer une paix séparée sans que leur prestige ait trop à souffrir.
