Indiquant les raisons pour lesquelles elle ne veut pas accepter une offre de candidature du parti républicain pour les prochaines élections, Mme CLARE LUCE, dont les journaux reflètent "actuellement" les points de vue chinois et russe, déclare:- "L'... aujourd'hui est que la guerre continue à être perdue. Depuis Pearl Harbour les chances de victoire ont été effritées aussi sûrement que les bandes de roulement de nos pneus. Mais pendant que nos ... et économistes discutent (cette) pénurie de caoutchouc, nul ne peut nier qu'il y a une certaine pénurie de victoires. Il y a des produits de substitution pour le caoutchouc mais rien ne peut être substitué à des victoires".
