Le discours que V.E. a prononcé a Compiègne est largement reproduit par la presse de ce matin.

Si de nombreux autres s'étonnent que l'échange d'un prisonnier malade ou blessé contre trois ouvriers connaisseurs en bonne santé puisse être considéré comme un succès, la plupart hésite a formuler des conclusions dans l'ignorance od ils se trouvent des modalités exactes de l'accord, une dépêche de l'U.F. affirmant que le projet d'échange ne porte pas sur trois ouvriers contre un prisonnier mais sur trois prisonniers contre un ouvrier connaisseur.

Je serais reconnaissant a V.E. de (3006) bien vouloir, si elle le juge a propos, me fournir tous les éléments d'information qui pourraient éventuellement me permettre de faire revenir les journalistes américains sur l'opinion critique qu'ils ont adoptée a l'égard de cet échange.
