Des bâtiments de pêche frangais pratiquant la pêche au thon sur la côte ouest de France sont rentré au port le 12 août ayant été l'objet d'attaques à l'(improviste) de la part d'avions britanniques.

Deux thoniers de Concarneau ont été attaqués et ont ramené un blessé. Trois thoniers de Lorient ont perdu un tué. Huit bateaux d'Etel ont eu 2 tués et 3 blessés. Plusieurs autres bateaux, bien que n'ayant eu aucune perle, ont été atteints par des (balles) de (mitralleuse). La protestation la plus énergique a été immédiatement élevée par le Gouvernement frangais contre ces inqualifiables (attentats).
