La revue catholique américaine "THE COMMONWEAL" qui presque seule dans la presse ... d'Amérique montre à l'égard des idées communistes une certaine sympathie, publie dans son numéro de cette semaine un manifeste signé par 43 catholiques qui expriment pour le Gouvernement soviétique leur plus complète admiration.

"Les Nations Unies, (a-t-on) dit dans cette déclaration, ont la chance extrême d'avoir à leurs côtés la Russie dans la lutte pour la liberté. Grâce à un esprit de générosité et de justice envers les Russes de la part des chrétiens du monde, la Russie sera attirée progressivement dans le camp (3073) des nations démocrates".

Parmi les signatures, on relève les noms d'un certain nombre de nos compatriotes: M. DE KERILLIS, JACQUES MARITAIN, le père DE ... et M. DE MESSIERES, professeur à WELLESLEY COLLEGE.
