Message Nos:368-369.

Le premier ministre a prononcé hier à la radio un discours dans lequel, après avoir souligné la gravité de l'heure, il a annoncé les décisions suivantes:

La réquisition pour les services de guerre atteindra les femmes comme les hommes (qui) portent les armes. Bientôt, va commencer l'enregistrement des femmes afin qu'elles puissent remplacer les hommes dans les travaux moins (durs) ou moins dangereux, et les (369) libérer ainsi pour le service militaire. Les (industries) non-essentielles à la guerre devraient se priver de tout ou d'une partie de leur personnel. Si les (industries) essentielles ne pourront renvoyer leurs ouvriers ni ces derniers ne pourront abandonner leur travail sans une autorisation gouvernementale.

Ainsi le Canada, après l'Angleterre, en arrive à la mobilisation des éléments féminins et pour la plupart à un contrôle plus strict des activités privées.
