L'annonce d'une victoire britannique en
Afrique provoque un grand (enthousiasme) malgré la
réserve de certains commentaires de presse qui
conseillent d'attendre avec calme le résultat des
opérations engagées en Egypte. L'opinion dans son
ensemble considère cette attaque comme préludant à
l'ouverture d'un second front en Europe, particulièrement en direction de l'Italie.
