Message No. 405.
(From our Consul at Montreal.) Abbe
LEMOINE, chief amongst our Canadian friends
who is interested in Stanislas College arrived
yesterday in Ottawa in order to draw my attention
to the delay in the arrival of the subvention
which was promised. The hopes encouraged by
the recent visit of Canon MEJECAZE led to a
renewal of activity. It was almost a month ago,
while he was here, that he stated that arrange-
ments had been made for sending the second
installment of ($20,000.?). Nothing has been
heard since then. Moreover, knowing the situation,
he said that he would be in a position on his
return to insist that the money be sent quickly
for the construction of the college.
