Message No. 454.

The resistance of the French Government
and, perhaps still more, the emotion aroused by
the ..... 'coup de main' on St. Pierre has ended
the campaign of (evil ?) reports circulated on the
23rd and 24th concerning the situation in France.

Based on a report put out by ...... and
claiming to come from "somewhere in Europe",
numerous papers, especially those in French,
carry large headlines that Marshal PETAIN has been
dismissed while "announcing the entry of German
troops into Spain".
