Des la reprise des travaux parlementaires,
Monsieur CHURCH a rappelé au Premier Ministre ses
questions concernant la légation française (ma
lettre No. 36 du 23 Novembre). M. Mackenzie King
a répondu qu'il n'avait pas l'intention d'en pro-
voquer la fermeture pour un moment. Il a ajouté
que lors d'une conférence de Presse ..., il avait
prié M. Churchill d'exposer lui-même les raisons
qui lui font désirer le maintien des relations avec
France. Celui-ci avait dit qu'il souhaitait ce
maintien et qu'il l'autorise à faire savoir claire-
ment et sous sa responsabilité que tel était bien
son désir. Le gouvernement, a continué M. Mackenzie
King, entendre collaboration entière avec le gouverne-
ment britannique et nous estimons qu'à cet égard nous
l'aidons d'une manière utile à tout.
