de notre abstention ne serait publiée, mais que si celle-ci

Le Président de la République a fait connaître hier soir qu'en raison de son état de santé il se retirait du pouvoir pour un mois et le remettait constitutionnellement entre les mains du Vice-Président qui est "U". On apprend que le Président entrait dans une clinique au lendemain même du changement de ministère, et alors que l'atmosphère politique est depuis plusieurs mois fort tendue, cette nouvelle produit une assez vive sensation et crée quelque nervosité dans certains milieux.

(284) Quelques observateurs vont jusqu'à se demander si l'éloignement du Président ne dissimule pas une manœuvre. Le journal communiste exprime la crainte que la situation politique actuelle ne favorise les menées des éléments fascistes. L'opposition souligne que le Président RIGS s'éloignant, le Gouvernement actuel composé de personnalités étrangères aux partis politiques ne peut plus désormais prétendre aucunement représenter l'opinion des électeurs. D'autre part la nomination du nouveau Ministre de la Défense nationale a été assez mal accueillie dans l'armée et elle vient de provoquer la démission "U".

**M. GEORGES HERDT n'est plus correspondant du journal "Le Canada". Il avait reçu ce titre il y a 9 ou 10 ans sur la demande d'un de ses parents ou amis, directeur au conseil d'administration, de ce (.M.: journal). Il s'agit d'un poste uniquement .U. destiné à donner à l'intéressé les facilités réservées aux correspondants de presse étrangers et une certaine considération. HERDT n'a envoyé dans le début qu'un tout petit nombre d'articles qui ont été trouvés sans intérêt et qui, à une ou deux exceptions près peut-être, n'ont pas été reproduits par ce journal. Veuillez en conséquence inviter les délégués du Gouvernement Provisoire à Dublin, Stockholm, Hadria, Lisbonne, Ankara, Bucarest, Sofia et Berne à notifier leur rappel aux officiers que vous (105) trouveraient dans leur pays de résidence.
