Description
Exterior of the Mansion House Hotel established in the mid 19th century. The hotel was in front of the historic Carlyle house and was a well-renowned hotel in the region. Converted into a hospital for Union soldiers during the civil war, the hotel was also called the Braddock House in reference to General Edward Braddock of the French and Indian War, who set up headquarters here and was aided by a young George Washington.
