Title

"Black Women Get AIDS Too!"

Description

This is a flyer advertising a discussion forum hosted by Black CAP (The Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention) surrounding HIV positive Black women. This is one of many public initiatives launched by the organizations aimed at educating different demographics of Toronto’s Black population about the spread of AIDS and to debunk misinformation about the illness, like demonstrating that even heterosexual women could get infected. The event tried to reach out to as many members of the community as possible, offering child care and even sign language interpretations for the hard of hearing, able to accommodate any members of the public and prevent inaccessibility to the information. This forum was also treated like a community event, inciting people to gather and discuss among them, hopefully addressing the AIDS crisis as it related to their own individual circumstances and spreading even more preventative measures against the spread.
