Title
Walking Africville Audio Tour
Description
The Walking Africville Audio Tour is an immersive exploration of the former community, guided by the voices of former residents. The audios, along with the historical maps and photographs, form a tour that allows listeners to connect the physical space of where the community once stood with the personal memories, stories, and lived experiences of the people who lived there. It highlights the layout of the community, key landmarks, and daily life before its demolition, making Africville’s history tangible and accessible. By focusing on the perspectives of those who lived there, the tour preserves individual and collective memories while educating the public about the community’s resilience, culture, and ongoing legacy. This multimedia experience turns remembrance into an interactive journey, keeping the legacy of Africville alive for future generations.
