Christie v. The York Corporation

Dublin Core

Title

Christie v. The York Corporation

Description

This Supreme Court case involved Fred Christie, a Black man from Montreal who was refused service at the York Tavern even though he had been served there before. He took them to court on the grounds of discrimination and lost with the judge saying the owner has the right to refuse service. It shows how blatant anti-Black discrimination was at the time in Canada.
