<text>Argentinian composer Cecilia Arditto's "Musica invible" was composed in 2005 for trumpet and flügelhorn.

On the composer's website, a description of the work states: "Música invisible / invisible music is an accumulative project based on the exploration of new possibilities for different instruments. The research on unusual techniques comes together with the exploration of new perception techniques. A melody in 1/32 tones in the flute not only deals with microtonality but also creates a new listening context; a trumpet player playing their instrument into a tin of water not only opens new acoustic possibilities for the instrument but also changes the theatrical role of the player in the concert. The catalogue of physical curiosities is subordinated to the creation of different ways of thinking the instrument, working in the abstract zone where the instrument loses its familiarity and becomes invisible. Musica invisible aims at combining the composers' view together with the performer's experience, as two complementary sides of the musical composition process."</text>

<text>Argentinian composer Tomás Gueglio's "After L'Addio / Felt" was commissioned in spring 2014 and composed in collaboration with Ben Melsky.

As written on the composer's website, "After L'Addio / Felt (2014) is a two movement piece composed in collaboration with Ben. The premiere of this work took place in a recital in which a performance of Salvatore Sciarrino's "Addio a Trachis" preceded. After L'Addio features varying levels of referentiality and filiation with "Addio...", from literal quoting to variation, to more esoteric and personal connections. Generally speaking, After is a frantic and highly tactile piece in which different levels of friction between hands and strings become syntactically relevant. Felt appears as the textural opposite of After in that the contact between performer and instrument is reduced considerably: the right hand plays with a felt pick for the entirety of the movement and the left hand features, for the most part, harmonics.

Visit Gueglio's website to read more.</text>
